Hydroburst™

To restore efficient screen performance, Johnson Screens offers its Hydroburst system. This system maintains screen cleanliness by generating a periodic blast of air through the screen assembly. For certain applications, slide rails offer a cleaning alternative by raising the screen to the water’s surface.

This system has four primary components:

• A compressor for recharging the air receiver tank
• A receiver tank which stores the compressed air supplied by the compressor
• An assembly of air-actuated valves and piping, which connects the receiver to the water intake
• A control panel, for manual or automatic operation

The typical backwash procedure cleans each water intake sequentially at regular intervals. If needed, it is possible to clean several water intakes at once.
