ST. PAUL, MN, February 24, 2010 - Johnson Screens is happy to announce that its New Brighton, MN, USA location has been awarded the 2010 Manufacturer of the Year award by Manufacturers Alliance.

Manufacturers Alliance is a Minnesota, USA based organization which provides peer-to-peer training, education and resources, allowing Minnesota-based manufacturers to continuously grow, improve and stay competitive.

The basis for the award was the company's willingness to share information to strengthen fellow manufacturers. Examples include involvement in educational presentations, peer mentoring programs, manufacturing articles, manufacturing-related organizations and plant tours.

In our efforts to become a lean manufacturer, Johnson Screens New Brighton has given numerous educational presentations at local conferences and to local colleges, sharing knowledge and experiences on a regular basis. Our employees peer-mentor individuals in the community on manufacturing issues, and are often asked to advise on lean manufacturing policies.

Johnson Screens New Brighton also belongs to numerous manufacturing-related organizations in an effort to stay up-to-date with the best manufacturing practices available, and to show support for the manufacturing industry.
