Screw Conveyors and Screw Press

Johnson Screens offers a whole range of screw conveyors and screw presses that can be integrated to our screening equipment or can be supplied as a stand-alone unit to suit an application.

The screw conveyor is designed for the transportation of municipal and industrial sludge and other wet screened matter. The screw rotates around its axis and pushes the material toward the discharge end. The screw conveyor can also be supplied with a shaftless screw. This design is particularly recommended for transporting fibrous solids.

The screw press is a single-drive solution for conveying, washing, dewatering and pressing of solids. It is similar to the screw conveyor except that it has separate washing and dewatering zones. Washing is particularly important in municipal applications where removal of organic matter from the screened solids is important. The screw press is capable of reducing water content of the solids up to four times.
